Back when summer had just started I put out a mixtape that I thought was perfect for listening to on the beach. Within the mixtape was a band called The Caribbean Torpedoes. I found their album on vinyl while cleaning out my grandparents’ basement and I enjoyed their soothing calypso sounds. Apparently my grandparents did, too. They went on a cruise in the 60′s and the Torpedoes were the band that performed on the ship. My Pops liked them so much that he purchased their album. I’m glad he did.
Enough of the backstory, I’ll get to why I’m sharing the full album now. A couple of weeks ago we were contacted by the daughter of the guitarist from the Caribbean Torpedoes and she expressed surprise at the fact that their music was available. We traded a few emails and she asked me to put the rest of their album online because she would love to share it with her family. So here is their album in its entirety for free. Listen to it and pretend you are cruising around the Bahamas.
