Nice In The Headphones: Edamame “Walk Like Me”

Electronic music is the Classical genre of our time, generation, and the years ahead of us. There..I said it.

When I was in school for recording I remember how my old-school roadie-esque professors would always comment on how the digital age is making music sound like it’s produced in a box. And you know what? They’re mostly right. It takes a lot of overall sound awareness to create all-encompassing music that really hits you and while I do love me some indie-rock and folk music, electronic will always have its special place.

Meet Edamame, an up-and-coming electronic musician from Chicago who displays his love of recorded sounds and tones through magnetizing music. He’s been compared to what it would sound like if Moby and Gold Panda had a baby, which is blatantly apparent in the track he recently shared with me titled “Walk Like Me.” I love the dripping effects in the beginning, the house-layered beats..it just all comes together in this one fluid song.

“Walk Like Me” is off of his upcoming debut album, Greenhouse, slated for a mid-December release. We’ll keep you posted here but in the meantime, listen to some of his other works over on his Soundcloud page.
