This upcoming week I’m diving into a new country. What I love about focusing on a different part of the world is seeing the parallels, the contrasting lifestyles, lyrical themes, and being introduced to something fresh.
Australia at times seems worlds away from North America. With their coastal societies, neighboring Asian-Pacific countries, and mostly desert lands, I’m intrigued by a place I’ve never been. There’s plenty of culture there, and a music scene brimming with untapped talent.
Check out what the Independent Music Project has recently done, recording 100 songs in 100 hours. Anyone who’s sat long hours in a recording studio or even at their home work-space knows how challenging that feat really is. Brisbane takes an audio snapshot of history in their local pool of talent and showcases plenty of fine musicians just waiting to be heard this side of the hemisphere.
