I see an army in the darkness.

I really dig the subtle tape hiss, aching vocals, and laid-back sound in

Floating Action’s track, “50 Lashes.”

This song has been idling on playlists of mine for a few months now, never once reaching the blog. With just a hint of twang, it’s a song that hits the ears warmly this time of year with its group vocals and thumping bass line.

The band has been chugging along since the release of this older track – recently they’ve been lucky to score shows with Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket, all while dropping their latest album, Fake Blood, which is available for purchase here.

Right-click and enjoy.

BONUS: another gem of a track that I’ve been itching to post. It’s rowdy y’all.
