Bay of Plenty EP – Edamame

I’m all about paying artists when they’re due, but I hardly ever turn away free music.

If you’re a reader of the blog and don’t recognize Chicago-based beatmaker Edamame then shame on you. This gentleman creates some of the most interesting electronic music I’ve heard in awhile, truly his own original sound. It’s something like a tropical-beat based chillwave, and it totally works. Especially with the nature sound effects in embedded in the background.

A couple of days ago he released his follow up to Greenhouse, the newly dropped Bay of Plenty EP and it’s a fine piece of work. I really enjoy the theme, the New Zealand references and the total feel of being one with nature. It’s a perfect summer listen (and download).

Taxus Baccata – Casa del Mirto

Casa del Mirto has an incredibly classic italo-electro sound.  Chillwave synths, downtempo beats, this trio captures electronic music that’s perfect for your headphones.

Taxus Baccata is dark and haunting, yet slow and delayed at other times. It’s a wonderful mixture of the moods they can create especially in their concluding track, “Finale.” Listen to the 5 track album below and grab it in its entirety (courteous of Mashhh! Records), here.
