Record Label Spotlight: Synthemesc

Not only are we big fans of many different forms of electronic music, but we’re also a fan of when these artists decide to create their own record label.

TEEEL’s new project, Synthemesc (SINTH•A•MESK), is a label that incorporates Synth Pop / Dream Wave / Dark Disco / Smooth Electronica / Experimental Beats into their overall sound. Jim (aka TEEEL) has been hard at work developing a like-minded community and I think he’s on the right track.

This past Tuesday we saw the release of two phenomenal albums. Crozet’s We’ll Be Gone By Then is full of expansive and hazy synths with appearances from guitars that were made for 80′s ballads. It’s not entirely chillwave instrumentals though and some tracks do manage to idle in the Neon Indian vein, but hey, that’s never a bad thing. I thoroughly dug it and you can check it out here.

The other release strayed into beat-makers territory with a more ambient flow. Reflex.Ion’s newest album, Translocation, is completely downtempo and smooth. What I really enjoy are the other influences that come into play, like all of the outer space sounds that he seems to thread into his music so seamlessly.

Both releases are available now and can be picked up here.
