[Nice In The Headphones] Silent Speech EP – Porcelain Raft

silent speech porcelain raft

Atmospheric and incredibly spatial, Porcelain Raft’s instrumentals take our ears and mind far beyond average reach. The textures and layers alone really take hold of your attention but what I’m really impressed with is the sort of orchestrated sound, the ebb and flow of each track from start to finish.

Intro song, “Playground,” starts off momentous then dropping us right into, “Off Track,” which plays well behind headphones with flickering heavy tones and thick synthesizers. I really enjoy the entire mood of the EP and its listenability. Stream the entire thing below and be sure to check out more of his work here.

Don’t forget your hometown and the people that you left behind.

I’m a big sucker for bedroom projects. I love the DIY nature, the spirit behind actually producing something whether you have support or not. So, it was really no surprise how much I dug Observer Drift immediately when his music landed in my inbox about a year ago.

Full of honest and emotive content that added another depth to his already dreamy synths and oscillating tones – Collin Ward really took hold of his own sound. With a new album titled, Fjords, due out May 31st, I’m excited to see if the Minnesota artist will take a plunge in a different direction or hone up on his already phenomenal dream-pop sound.

Stay tuned via Facebook and grab his latest single, a stripped down version of “Warm Waves” off of Corridors.

[Music Video] Dreamy Culture – W&I

They’re back, they’re back, they’re back! One of my favorite new things coming out of Stockholm, the duo W&I have just released a new music video for their single, “Dreamy Culture.”

A beautiful and simply shot video that solely features the two musicians against a late night visual of sights streaming past, your attention is held from start to finish. The fades are especially captivating on the eyes alongside the calm, downtempo track.

Watch the video above and keep yourself posted to this indie-electro duo that’s proving they have plenty more still up their sleeves.

[Meet] W&I

W&I

Electro-ballads are slowly becoming my thing now. For fans of Room8 and College, this one’s for you. A duo consisting of two film composers from Stockholm, I believe, is already enough to know that whatever I receive in my inbox will be something of solid gold.

“Love Divine,” is the group’s first single, something slow and building with soft and delicate vocals. Everything necessary is present, like the searing electric guitar and dreamy synths. It’s a fabulous entry into the electronic scene and I’m beyond excited to explore their debut EP. Be sure to check out the teaser and grab your own copy of their new track below.

Songs For Your Weekend Moods: Southern Shores Edition.

Southern Shores

Guys, it got fucking cold out. Not that I dislike the cold, I was born in December. But damn..after a week of being able to break a sweat walking my dog (he’s kind of big) this was sort of a rude reality-check.

Although I’m not quite sure of your geographical location, I do know that Southern Shores will bring some island vibes back into your life. It’s brilliant sampling/beat work with other fantastic live elements. In love for the time being, go grab some of my favorite tracks below and get on with your weekend.
