Tell me it’s time.

Sharon Van Etten has recently released a new track from her upcoming album, Tramp, due out February 7th via Jagjaguwar. “Serpents” follows the same heavy-hitting spirit we last heard in Epic and proves to be one moody track. I’ve always dug her extremely emotive style that paints such a clear picture in your mind of what she’s trying to express.

Tramp boasts one hell of a cast of indie musicians all lending their efforts with Aaron Dessner of The National on the producing end. I’m expecting an incredible album right from the opening track. Also recently released was her 2012 tour (I can’t believe we’re already talking about next year) which you can check out here. From personal experience ..it’s a show you don’t want to miss.

I’m hearing similarities to Land of Talk’s Elizabeth Powell..yeah? no?

The stillness will sweep you away.

Feeling pretty pumped this Monday morning.  Not about one thing in particular, just a nice fresh week ahead of me..and perhaps too much coffee in my system already.

Here’s what’s been flowing through my speakers this morning…

Virus.exe – Joywave It’s almost comical how much I’ve been listening to this group lately. This song is good…trust me yet?

I Don’t Like It Like This – The Radio Dept. And if you read this blog enough you also know I’m all about these swedes as well.  I was analyzing the lyrics this morning when I was on my run, what a downer.  Fantastic song and incredible band though.

Last Person – Jenny Owen Youngs Just another solid female singer-songwriter.  This is a stripped down version when she played at Daytrotter years ago.  Check out “Fuck was I,” my personal fav.

It’s Okay – Land of Talk Friends probably got tired last year with how much I pushed Land of Talk on them..well, every now and then it needs to resurface.  Heart-wrenchingingly solid.

Desire Lines – Deerhunter Keeping up with the low-key, shoegaze feel Deerhunter follows suit (no one will get this joke..and that’s ok).  I love the lyrics in this simple, guitar-droning song.

Right-click and enjoy.

BONUS: Intro (Minnesota Remix) – The XX Hold on to your seats, this one fucking builds and rips dubstep wide open.
