Heads Up Philadelphia: Tonight, Said The Whale At The M-Room

Last week I featured Canadians, Said The Whale, and their latest album in our Sunday Listening series. So, what would be a better way to cap off the end of your work week than by seeing these guys live?

As the group heads back north from another eventful SXSW, they plan to make a stop in Philadelphia tonight to play a show at The M-Room. I’m excited to revisit this location off Girard Ave. in Fishtown. It reminds me a bit of the old Khyber bar set-up with the half-walls and long rooms. An overlooked venue at times, this place always feels like an undiscovered gem to me.

Join us tonight to see this power-pop group in action. Show starts at 9pm and it’s less than $10, you just can’t say no to that.

Bailey Hounds Live at the M-Room

In this picture the Bailey Hounds are all alone at a concert hall. This was not the case at the M-Room.

Last Tuesday I was able to catch the Bailey Hounds live at the M-Room on Girard Ave in Philly and they kindly allowed me to plug into the mixer board and capture their beautiful sounds for you guys. They performed songs that will be on their upcoming album, which I encourage you to get.

As for the M-Room, it’s a nice venue with good sound. I suggest catching a show there if you can. So check out the entire live performance from the Hounds below, complete with a stoppage to retune their instruments as they claimed it would have been rude to the crowd to continue on out of tune. Pretty nice guys, huh?
