Jan, he looked right at me! RIP Davy Jones

I have been a Monkees fan since I can remember. Literally, my first memories involve listening to the Monkees on my little kid record player and watching reruns of their old show on Nickelodeon. I don’t know how it started exactly, but I do know that as soon as my brain started recording memories, the Monkees were involved.
Davy Jones was my favorite as he was the most magnetic. He was most likely the least talented musician in the group, and after listening to the Monkees’ catalogue at a more mature age I prefer the songs on which Nesmith was the lead the most, but he was cool. He had the aura. Other kids my age may have wanted to be a Ghostbuster or Ninja Turtle, but I wanted to be like Davy Jones. I even went so far as to adopt his fashion sense from the sixties into my preschool wardrobe. I still remember being yelled at by my teacher for wearing white pants on the playground because they would get dirty. They didn’t get dirty, though. I played it cool like Davy and was able to always remain fresh.
