Visions of you are never-ending.

Now this is some fucking dance-pop.

A feel good banger, “Visions of You,” is a fantastic uptempo track from electronic duo, ROOM8, who’ve got that classic 80′s synth style down and perfected. They’re bringing back a generation of sound in a tasteful new way, collaborating with artists such as Electric Youthknown for their hit “College” that was behind the Ryan Gosling film, Drive.

Also catch their polished track, “Neon and Dice,” below. Bonus points: Anyone recognize that sax?

Enjoy.

Germany Germany remixes himself.

As I was browsing on Soundcloud, a new remix of Germany Germany’s track, ”Too Fast” done by Germany Germany himself came across my dashboard.

I had to listen as I am an admirer of the dude’s work and it’s rare nowadays for an artist to remix their own work. I’m glad I clicked play on this one. It is called futurepop but this remix definitely has elements that are reminiscent of the 80′s. Check out the original and then compare it to the updates that Drew gave it.

Going to the French market.

I could die for this classy French collection of vintage goods. Well done, Chelsea, well done.

Seagull of a Different Color (The Color being TEEEL)

Pink bookbag Flock of Seagulls TEEEL
Drugs are Bad

Our buddy TEEEL just Tweeted a link to a cover he did of the tune “Space Age Love Song” originally by Flock of Seagulls. In TEEEL’s hands, the song keeps a solid 80s vibe and I’m digging the production quality. Give it a listen.

Side Story: One of the band members from Flock of Seagulls currently lives in my hometown. He rides around on a bike and wears a pink backpack. Apparently the life of a rock star got to him as he is kind of bad off. He always goes around the corner from his house to a cafe/restaurant and asks for a cup of ice. He doesn’t have a fridge or freezer, so that’s how he gets cold drinks. Be careful with the drugs and alcohol, kids.

Now enjoy TEEEL’s work:

Songs for your weekend moods.

Woooo it’s that time of the week again!  Rounding up this week’s uptempo obsessions by yours truly.  I’ve got a lot of different stuff this Friday, some weirdness for all ears.

Houdini RAC Remix – RAC It’s fair to say RAC produces nothing short of quality remixes, especially with the latest of Noah and the Whale.  But this Foster the People song?  Nothing but gold with the teetering synths, hand-claps, and of course some solid bass.

A Dragonfly in the City (Teen Daze Remix) – Sun Glitters You should already know by now how I feel about Teen Daze, s0 just add lush electronica Sun Glitters-style to the mix.  Rinse, lather, repeat.

The Ills – Mayer Hawthorne Darryl consistently shows love for this fine man, and now I shall too.  Check out this funky, brassy song and don’t let the “ills of the world get you down” this weekend.

Time (Hot Mess Remix) – Chase & Status I cannot get this song out of my head.  Just let that dubstep take you under control, lift you up and take you crashing back down.

Burnt By The Sun – Paul White Because I know you all were just waiting for me to unleash something truly, sonically interesting for you ears.  There’s so much dissonance going on but at the same time, a uniform hip-hop beat.  My ears may just explode.

Right-click and enjoy.
