Some day we’ll sleep for hours.

The Trouble With Templeton may be one of my most favorite finds of this year.

Since Thomas Calder’s debut album, Bleeders, was released, he’s spent plenty of time growing musically. Now backed with a full-fledged band, Calder can keep expanding his sound reaching exciting levels of expectation.

Recently released was their new single, “Six Months In A Cast,” and it’s wonderfully melodic, driving, and tragic all in one. While the group is working hard on new material, they’re beginning a tour with Julia Stone in Australia and appearing at a couple of CMJ dates in the US this fall.

Very exciting, take a listen below and keep tabs on their whereabouts here.

Also be sure to check out their new video for the track.

Slow down you say, it’s not a race.

Finding Thomas Calder (aka The Trouble With Templeton) deep within the “Australia” tag on bandcamp was quite the treasure. His richly acoustic and folk sound just resonates so warmly and was something my ears quickly drew towards.

Bleeders is the title of The Trouble With Templeton’s debut album, nine melodic tracks that are perfect for those early, slow starts to your day. Minimal in effortless ways, there’s short bursts of passion much like in older-Damien Rice and Guggenheim Grotto tracks. Listen below to Bleeders and keep track of him here.
