Meet Trophy Wife.
Here’s another example of something so extremely solid that I have unknowingly been
keeping to myself.
Meet Trophy Wife, hailing all the way from Oxford.
What I really like about this band is their distinct base line in each song. It’s powerful, and sets the tone and sound for this trio. This is some of my favorite music blended extremely well together..a little electronica here, a little bit indie there, peppered with sharp, snappy beats.
“Microlite” hit our ears back in November and I’ve been loving on them ever since. I’m also including the acoustic version because the strings just flush it out so well, it sounds pretty different (a good different). Check out the song,”Take Me There” to really hear them drop the beat then pick you up and string you along.
Currently they’re playing shows in Europe, not venturing much elsewhere. The band is pretty good about keeping their Myspace and Facebook up-to-date if you’re so inclined. The best was earlier when I was looking at tags I found something quite fitting…
Right-click and enjoy.
BONUS: Lately I’ve been thinking about this one particular song and how much it sounded like a glitchy version of Cocorosie. I started to do some digging and I discover why the hell I’m so entranced by this new act. It’s because it’s GOBBLE GOBBLE’s new project and it’s good.
