Whew, lately it seems the frequency in music submissions has gone way up. Although I can never guarantee anyone coverage on the blog, I do really enjoy the influx of emails going on in my inbox. Anyways, I thought I’d feature some of the music that’s stood out as of late and perhaps turn your ears onto something lovely.
Meet The Ugly Club, who on further inspection I’ve declared aren’t actually so ugly at all but I guess that’s not the point now is it? These gentlemen produce a classic indie-rock sound with flashes of pop and psychedelia. It’s a pretty fantastic thing to listen to with just enough lo-fi to refresh your ears (and you know how much I love lo-fi anything). Thankfully they’ve released their EP, “Visions of Tall Girl” for free on their bandcamp which you can grab here. I’m thinking a slightly American-sounding Kooks at certain moments..amirite? You decide.
While you’re right-clicking and enjoying the above track you should check the video below where Music1nFocus caught some acoustic footage of the guys with the NYC skyline in the background. It’s a beautiful thing.
