Loud, lo-fi, and plenty of tape hiss – Monday Appreciation Society just scream basement show. Formed through the connection of a previous local band, and brought together by “a 4-track cassette recorder, a lot of lyrics, a lot of friends and a lot of beer,” I love the late-night thrown together sort of feel of their sound. But, upon listening further, there’s depth and relevance to their words.
Worth a repeated amount of listens, tuck yerself in and give the If You Were Here, I’d Be Home Now a full listen, start to finish. You won’t be disappointed.
