Joywave’s upcoming release, Koda Vista, is shaping up to be one hell of a follow up to their 77777 mixtape.
I’ve always enjoyed their downtempo electronic sound and now I’m really digging their song structure and story lines. With the addition of their latest single, “Anemone,” and the previous track, “True Grit,” I’m getting really excited to see how the entire album will play out from start to finish.
I also wanted to share this great press shot I received which shows the Rochester guys in their hometown. The corporation, Kodak, has had an ominous presence in the group’s lives, growing up in a town that was essentially raised by the company. Koda Vista takes away from their experiences things like larger themes of finding one’s own place in the world. It’s just extrememly interesting to note that in this picture, Joywave are standing in George Eastman’s (the founder of Kodak) previous home now turned museum.
Grab the track below and be sure to visit their bandcamp page that offers a number of different pre-sale options in case you can’t wait until March 27th.
