Record Store Day 2012: The Wake Up Early Wishlist

As Lindsey is getting ready to go off and rage at Coachella, I am preparing to wake up uber early on Saturday morning in order to line up outside of Princeton Record Exchange so I can get first dibs on all of the releases I am targeting. I’m going to throw my list of targets up here, and it may or may not change before Saturday depending on what I read from now until then.

4 days…

So, I’ve been lurking around the Coachella message boards like a creep.  Hey, I just wanna know what’s up, that’s all.  I wanted to get a feel for some bands everyone seems to be real pumped to see..and I want to see how much it varies from my own pre-determined list.

Here’s a handful of artists that are hyping up people’s countdown to Coachella..

Gogol Bordello – These guys are wacky.  They seem to incorporate anything and everything into their gypsy-esque music.  People are going wild over them and claim they’re a must-see.  If you’re expecting some normal indie-rock, nah, don’t even bother clicking.  If I get a chance to see them out in the desert, it should be interesting to say the least..

My Companjera

Through the Roof and Underground

Empire of the Sun – A sweet little electronic duo all the way from Australia.  These two are a bit

out there as well but I have a good feeling about them.  They’ve got an MGMT feel if that’s what you’re into.  I just love their crazy outfits.

Standing On The Shore

The Thrill (feat. Wiz Khalifa)

Animal Collective – I mean, this band really speaks for itself.  They’ve been dominating the indie-music sphere for quite some time now.  They’re avant-garde and of course I love that they claim Baltimore as their hometown.  Check out these experimental tracks that will challenge your ears from their album, Merriweather Post Pavilion.

In The Flowers

My Girls

As always, right-click to enjoy.
