It’s you, it’s always been you.

dangerous ponies

So simple and yet so underrated. Philadelphia’s Dangerous Ponies do a damn good job at creating effortless indie rock.

With plenty of lo-fi fuzz, jangly guitar riffs, and dual boy/girl vocals – my ears are completely satisfied. Listen to the band’s latest little 4-track teaser of an EP titled Tenderheart, which is even available on 7”.

I could play the title track over and over and over again.

I’m all dressed up with nowhere to go.

CSS playing at Philadelphia's Union Transfer

Don’t think I forgot to mention on this blog how amazing CSS were last Friday (10/21). I just needed some time to formulate my words on the entire evening.

Now, I never had the chance to eat at the Spaghetti Warehouse (I heard their meatballs were huge though) but recently the R5 boys put the nail in that coffin and turned it into an old-timey bar/music venue called Union Transfer. It’s taken me awhile to get down there but I was thoroughly impressed. These guys are true music lovers and the layout of the entire building is incredible, they knew exactly what they wanted. I mean it’s obvious, right down to the toilet paper roll placement because I pay attention to these things (it’s on the inside door, convenient!!). Continue reading

Video for your weekend moods: Brazilians teach us how to dance edition.

I don’t know about you guys but this white girl hasn’t learned shit from Dancing with the Stars (thanks Nancy Grace). I can’t bring any of those moves to my weekend activities, they just don’t mesh.

Thankfully this dance tutorial landed in my inbox this morning. How did they know I’ve got two back-to-back wedding weekends coming up?!

Hits Me Like A Rock – CSS

These crazy characters have also just announced their Falling In Love Tour, grab your tickets now.

See you on the dance floor, right-click and enjoy.

Take me on your motorcycle.

Guess what?  I’ve got some new music from the crazy Brazilians, Cansei de Ser Sexy, also known as CSS.

Not ringing a bell?  How about this song…

CSS is coming back at us with the dance-rock we’re used to, taking a break from their more alternative sound in 2008′s Donkey.

I sure missed Lovefoxxx and that distinct voice of hers.  Thankfully, CSS is dropping their third studio album, La Liberacíon, this August.  Have a listen to their newest single, “Hits Me Like a Rock.” I promise you’ll be stuck with this one on loop.

6 days.

I lose time when I visit back home.

Everything blends into each other, there’s so much to do, so many people to see.  I never get to accomplish everything I want to. One thing that jogged my memory was listening to a Foals track this morning.  Duh, lets post some music.

Meet Foals.  Like usual, I’m digging the English music.  Mostly an indie-rock band that I’ve come to notice that puts their own ultra-technical style on things.  They’ve been pumping out albums since 2007 and are even signed onto Sub-Pop.  Their most recent was released last year, Total Life Forever.

These guys are emotional.  You can feel it through the guitars, the drums, all the way down to the lyrics.  So take a listen to some excellent dance/math-rock, you won’t be disappointed.  Plus, I heard these guys are amazing live..see ya’s at Coachellaaaaa.
