As usual I’m late with my recap BUT I still wanted to put up the little photo documentation I have of my Governor’s Ball experience from a few weeks ago as well as at least a mention of some of my favorite acts of the weekend.
I absolutely love the nature inspired soundscape undearneath the glazed over synths in Sterile Cuckoo’s track, “Of Spring And Efforts.” That’s all it really took for me to have to start poking around his other sites.
And as I was listening to his music, thinking of ways to describe it, I smiled while looking at his interests on Facebook. Craft Spells, Summer Heart, Youth Lagoon, Balam Acab, Wild Nothing, Explosions in the Sky…I love his taste, and I think it seeps to the core of his very own music yet, he till finds an original spin on such an evolving genre. Check out Sterile Cuckoo’s album, メガネ！メガネ！, which according to Google Translate means Glasses! Glasses!
I think “The Weakest And Strongest” and “Stella” are my favorites, but as I keep repeating the album I find something different to enjoy.
