With only two tracks on his soundcloud page, I was wondering if I found the correct Mike Landry. Based out of London, Landry shares with us a brilliant re-work/sampling of Childish Gambino’s track, “Heartbeat.”
I love in particular that this track doesn’t come crashing together at the end. I actually really enjoy the downtempo nature, melodic keys in the background, and that one specific Gambino line on repeat. It all just sounds so tight.
I actually chose this particular track for a Nice In The Headphones post because of one thing. The oscillating tones. The fluttering sounds that run in and out of your ear drums really make “Heartbeat” come alive. It’s incredible how much depth you can create within the electronic genre, the textures and layers that are present undoubtedly remind me of classical music. The possibilities are endless.
Right-click and enjoy.
