If you had my life you’d understand.

The main reason why I loved Cudi’s Man On The Moon: The End Of Day was because of the searing darkness behind every single track. He had this real-life depression that was pouring its way out through each and every verse. It was incredible to listen to. Plus, the guy is simply an amazing musician.

I never entirely got into WZRD, and I’m not sure if I ever will. But, just as expected, the rapper’s back again with a host of new material for an upcoming (double-disk) album titled, Indicud. Featuring King Chip (Chip Tha Ripper), listen and grab your copy of the first single, “Just What I Am.”

Cudder’s back and I love it.

Governors Ball Recap

As usual I’m late with my recap BUT I still wanted to put up the little photo documentation I have of my Governor’s Ball experience from a few weeks ago as well as at least a mention of some of my favorite acts of the weekend.

Cudi The Kid feat. Kid Cudi & Travis Barker – Steve Aoki (Lucky Date Remix)

Anytime I see Kid Cudi in a track-listing you better believe I’m going to press play. It doesn’t help that Travis Barker and Steve Aoki are already deep in the mix.

Lucky Date immerses himself in “Cudi The Kid,” revving up those low bassy tones for such a heavy, heavy buildup. It’s almost a god damn relief when this thing finally drops.

So California.

Sorry but not sorry. Kid Ink will fill the void until I get a chance to listen to Cudi’s latest drop that came out yesterday, WZRD.

Don’t go running honey, I’ll follow you.

I’m going to warn you, this mixture of solid music I’m throwing your way is an eclectic bunch.  Expand your ears and right click away.

I Follow Rivers – Lykke Li My giirrllllllllll recently released this excellent song off her upcoming release in February and I am pumped.  Absolutely pumped.  The beat is nice and smooth and then crashes right into the chorus perfectly.  I wasn’t a believer before but now I think I can dig just about every single thing she creates.

Whoa – The Yes Club Lo-fi?  Check.  Loud?  Check.  Noisy rock?  Check.  My brand new speakers may have just blown out but I enjoyed every second of this 3 minute song.  The keyboard scales and fuzzy guitars take this song back a couple of decades to some old psych-rock.  Solid.

Riot Song (The Soundmen Remix) – Johnny Polygon featuring Kid Cudi This song came on my iTunes when I was just listening on shuffle.  Almost changed it because of the initial irritation I felt with the repetitive, telephone-sounding vocals but then once Cudder got on that quickly left.  This jam will grow on you, the end is greattt.

Go Dancing – Eux Autres Another repetitive song you think you wouldn’t like but, you will.  Back to the psych-pop with this Cali group.  Their music mostly consists of sparse instrumentation but keep listening and you’ll realize they go deeper then that.  I love the progression into the chorus, ties everything in well.  If you like this then listen to their song “Queen Turner.”

Enjoy.

This is the real.

Whoa.  It’s December already?  I always forget how crazy busy this time of year is.

Anyways, I’ve been meaning to write this post for awhile now..and finally I have gotten around to selecting some songs for my brother that I like to work out to.  So here you go Nick, add these to the iPod :)  Hope the rest of you enjoy.

Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins Rework) – Star Slinger A little on the low key side, but I have much love for Star Slinger.  I highly recommend their remixes.

Crystal Mines – CFCF Bedroom DIY artists just don’t run out… great, heavy electronic music from this Canadian.

Something – Copy

Never Good Enough (The Killabits Remix) – Major Lazer I usually am not a fan of Major Lazer but this is some sick dubstep.  This is a great song to run to.

Creepy Phone Calls – Tobacco Tom Fec, aka the crazy man behind this music is just skilled.  This song is absolutely nuts, listen and you’ll know what I mean.

Sorry To Interrupt – Theophilus London Never can go wrong with some Theo.

All Things Go (w/ Sufjan Stevens) – Chiddy Bang The song years ago that introduced me to Chiddy Bang, that I instantly fell in love with, and that I spread around like wildfire.

I Don’t Feel It Anymore (George Raquet Remix) – William Fitzsimmons

Futuretapes - CSLSX

Embrace The Martian - Kid Cudi This is my Cudi.

River – Germany Germany I love when everything starts kicking in at 0:40 seconds. Seriously..how could I not.

Happy workouts.
