Wildcat! Wildcat! are simply solid. I’m reminded of a lot of things along with their smooth electro-pop sound. Joywave comes to mind mostly, but sometimes I hear a bit of Gardens & Villa in there too.
Coming out of Los Angeles, this seasoned trio bring to the table over 15 years of working together in one form or another. Finally settling down last year, Wildcat! Wildcat! have been banging out hit after hit quickly spreading their seductive sound.
I feel that it’s kind of weird that my first post back after a decently long hiatus featured a song that is very cynical in nature. I love this song, but the mood is so far from what my day to day life has been lately. I’ve been living at the beach for the most part since Memorial Day, so things are either all chill or all rage (fist pumping fun type, not the angry type) on a day to day basis. I’m gonna touch on the chill side of things here, but expect a ton of rage to come your way in the very near future.
DJ BRE (pronounced Bray) just posted this summer time chilled out mix (click) on Facebook and I grabbed it right away. It consists of a bunch of laid back hip hop and R&B tunes and sounds like pure relaxation. It was crafted specifically for lounging by the pool at the W Hotel in Miami, where DJ BRE spins regularly, but it works for lounging at the beach or at a backyard BBQ too. So, download it and lay outside for an hour. Also, if you’d like to check out more mixes from DJ BRE or DJ Blaze go like the Miami Bassed Facebook page and get on their mailing list.
This by far has been one of the hardest mixes to hit my inbox yet.
Clocking at a little over an hour, Walshy Fire trips us up immediately with gut-wrenching synths under slow-grooving vocals. It’s an incredibly diverse mix that blends well, constantly keeping you moving throughout the massive ups and smooth breakdowns.
Dubbed as Miami’s “Prime Minister” and closely affiliated with Major Lazer, it’s obvious to see this guy’s on a nice path.
