Tuesday Night Review

Last night the community of Moodgadget artists converged on Glasslands Gallery in south Williamsburg for a pretty impressive showcase: Under The Mountain Festival. The 9 acts, of which included Mux MoolTeeel, & Foxes in Fiction, played for nearly 6 hours to a packed house of head-bobbing electronic/chill wave enthusiasts (even Com Truise was in attendance).

Arguably the folks associated with the Moodgadget label, ISO50 (powered by Scott Hansen aka Tycho), and Ghostly International aren’t a defined “artist collective” but I’d say they’re a pretty rad troupe of musicians. I spoke with Teeel aka Jim Smith a bit about their sound. “Its an effort where everyone contributes something,” he said. “We’re all out to kinda do the same thing: to put our music out there.” Which they do real well. Mux Mool has his entire album Skull Taste streaming on soundcloud as does Teeel - to which Jim comments. ”I want people to take it and spread it.”

I’d recommend seeing any of the artists on the bill last night, full line up here.  Now here are a couple tracks performed throughout the night. Enjoy!

Marx on my Heart - Teeel

Canticle – Mux Mool

Diamonds are Dust – Starfawn

Hours – Tycho - Since we’re talking about Tycho’s known associates, why not post his latest release. For some reason this one gets me ready for fall weather.
