I’m (maybe) sorry for this?
I don’t normally do this and am for the most part a little too accepting of a lot of music, but I for some reason feel this needs to be said.
I just can’t get into the Sleep ∞ Over: Forever album.
I don’t really get it.. I mean, I do like a lot of weird and possibly, some may say, crappy music.
Usually I am completely into lo-fi spacey, woozy beats and dreamy singing and even some of this “witch house” stuff that I can put on and drift off to sleep but most of this album does not do anything for me. I think it’s the fact that there are a lot of “droney” no-direction noise moments and I absolutely hate drone music.
I will say there are a few good tracks on here, “Romantic Streams” I actually really like a lot. Lead single “Casual Diamond” and “Stickers” are pretty good, as well as some other moments (Flying Saucers Are Real) but the album as a whole doesn’t do all that much for me.
Am I wrong? Does anyone feel differently?
If I keep listening to it maybe I’ll change my mind. If there are 10 songs and maybe 5 are good and 5 are bad is the album okay then? I think I’m losing my mind.

Romantic Streams – Sleep ∞ Over (very good!)
So what do you think?
EDITOR’S NOTE: typically here at What’s Protocol? we pride ourselves on not ever dishing out bad reviews, we won’t write about it at all if our feelings are anywhere in the negative realm. But, in this instance bFunk isn’t bashing the album, rather he is asking our readers their own take on the Sleep ∞ Over’s Forever. We know that everyone’s ears and taste are never the same (that’s the beauty) but the difference here is that bFunk is open to suggestions, open to hearing other’s opinions on this album and readily and willing to accept them. While at times some of the other contributor’s music they chose to feature is something I wouldn’t necessarily download for my own iTunes library I thoroughly enjoy what they have to say. So, help our boy out. Why should he listen and enjoy the Forever album? – lindsey
