If your ears haven’t heard the genius that is Sydney’s Flume, then let me quickly do you a solid. Your weekend moods have got to involve this talented producer, trust me.
The man behind it all, Harley Streten, experienced an incredible 2012 with his debut album jumping quickly to multiple Australian charts. And just recently, he re-introduced that incredible album as a deluxe version that features the original album, the mixtape, and remixes of and by Flume himself.
Also be sure to check out the future synth-pop sound of his newest original track with The Preatures frontwoman, Isabella Manfredi, below.
BONUS: Oh, and just for good measure – a Disclosure remix.
One of my most favorite things about the electronic genre – that there are so, so many different facets of it. So many different styles, sounds, you name it that make an artist distinguishable.
André Uhl’s got that dark and eerie touch and his latest remix of Canooooopy’s track, “Meet Me at My Invisible Housing,” displays nothing less. Listen below and if you like what you hear keep posted to PIR▲.MD Records for more info on the rest of the Canooooopy remix album.
I just love love love the build in this remix. It’s no secret that I absolutely adore the French and their innate ability to make fabulous dance music – and Fred Falke delivers nothing less.
Check his spin on Pompeya’s track, “90,” below and be sure to listen to more of his sounds here.
It’s slow to build, but I promise you, it’s worth the wait.
Indian Wells has created a masterpiece throwing his own spin on the Heathered Pearls track, “Precious Dive.” The eerie low-end that stays below the surface yet present throughout the entire song holds everything together so tightly – while other sounds are explored and dropped into the mix. Mostly, I really enjoy how the start and finish are absolutely different.
Needless to say I’m a big fan of this mysterious Italian producer. Listen below and stay tuned for more via Facebook.
Jon Lawless from the loveable Canadian group, First Rate People, recently dropped an amazing remix on all of our ears. Completely re-working Electronic Environment’s track, “Malibou,” Lawless adds plenty of extra elements to keep our ears sonically captivated.
Too good, grab your copy below.
My world involves heavy up and down periods. And I fucking love it. I would never trade the wave of being intensely busy for a stretch of days, sometimes weeks, than a sedentary style of being at a desk 9-5, 5 days a week.
So, we aren’t like most other music blogs around here. I don’t obsess over who’s the hottest thing at the moment or what everyone else is posting and nor do the rest of the other contributors. I don’t overload the sidebars with advertisements so I can make a meager living sitting and blogging. I enjoy the sharing process, to give and to receive. That’s what it’s all about right?
So, as I try to get all caught up over these next couple of days before I find myself out of town again – hit the tag cloud on the right and explore some sounds, tweet us a song you can’t stop listening to. And I’ll post when I can.
Finally, Vindata is back, and their sound is a limitless as ever.
Off of their upcoming EP, Paradigm, the duo have just dropped new single, “Being,” which is an absolute sultry jam. I like this dip into future r&b, it sounds like a natural direction for the gentleman and comes out effortlessly.
Along with some new, check out some of their previous tracks below.

Just the other day, DJ, Producer, Young Canadian, remixer, yadda-yadda Ryan Hemsworth released his newest cute little EP featuring a whole bunch of lush dreamy sounding melodies and nicely produced hiphop/danceable beats. What I really enjoy about Hemsworth, even in his DJ sets and mixes, is that he has a tremendous way of capturing various moods and emotions and then carrying you through them to new and unexpected places. This EP is a fine example of his ability to do just that; capturing what I feel is a very somber and intimate mood.
Check it out below:
A deserved Songs For Your Weekend Moods feature. RAC have the absolute Midas touch, without a doubt. Listen to some of their latest below.
