Avicii remixes Tron

I’m getting into the world of DJing now and I’ve been building up a library of current dance songs to play for the masses.

As part of my “homework” I’ve been listening to Sirius XM’s dance station BPM so I know what’s current. They keep playing the vocal edit of the Avicii remix of Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” and it’s amazing. Apparently it hasn’t been released anywhere yet so I am resigned to streaming it on Soundcloud. Can someone tell Avicii to release this thing already?

That Drank

Last year, Mad Decent presented us (you, me, and everyone else) with Bird Peterson’s Drankenstein volume 1, an album’s worth of southern hiphop remixed with some of Bird’s favorite trance snyths and samples. If this was an actual CD or tape, I’d prolly have the thing worn out by now from listening to it so much. It’s just so damn good.

BUT anyway. Just about a week ago the Birdman (not THAT Birdman) dropped volume number 2. Check it out below and click the top picture to listen to the first volume and the bottom to cop that neu neu!!!

Relax and stay young.

I’ve had a very, very long day…and then I came home to fleas. Awesome.

But you know what’s actually awesome, instead of me being facetious I’ll just gift you all with some fab tunes. How about that?

I need to crack this fucking Frontline open and give myself a flea bath.  My dog is sleeping in the hall tonight.

Kaleidoscope (feat Jonsi) – Tiesto   I would never guess such an expansive song would be produced by Tiesto but I’m pretty sure that’s just the Jonsi factor going on.  It’s calming yet climbs and climbs throughout the entire 7 minute song, slowly layering instruments.  It’s an older one, beautiful.

Naked Kids – GROUPLOVE   I saw these guys a ton in the media tent at Lolla and can honestly say they’re a truly happy-go-lucky bunch.  They seemed so content and gracious to be there that the story about how they all came together as a band is that more believable.  The journey that led them to where they are today was all about pure love, how can you not enjoy listening to their music?

Shuffle A Dream – Little Dragon   Good god I am just falling in love with Ritual Union.

This Could Take A Lifetime – Maria Taylor   I know, the other day I just posted Maria Taylor but c’mon, that voice just fills me up.  And today she just dropped Overlook, which I know now I definitely need to pick up.  This is her first album being back in Birmingham, Alabama and she sounds completely at ease.  I’ve heard “Matador” and other tracks from the album and know this stands to be one of her finest pieces of work yet.  Finally, if you ever see her playing in your city don’t let me catch you at home.

Don’t forget to right-click and enjoy.
