[Meet] Vagabon

A few months late on this one, but whoever’s read this blog from one time or another knows that means absolute shit to me.

It’s about that moment in time, when what’s transmitting through the wires of your headphones makes you stop dead in your tracks. The background fades, and you’re simply in the moment. Listening line to line, note to note, of the next best thing. New, old, those words are worthless to use to describe.

Anyway, I’m a big fan of angsty female vocals. I mean..I’ve got old Rilo Kiley lyrics tattooed on my arm for life. And a quick listen to in passing (aka passing time during the normal 9-5), turned into an hour of perusing every available track of Laetitia Tamko’s that was available to stream online. In her latest release, Infinite Worlds (via Father/Daughter records), Tamko gives us a tight little trip into her bedroom-pop project that is Vagabon. My personal favorite track is “Mal á L’aise.”
